Global Warming Is Real
As Al Gore stated, "There's no longer any debate in the scientific community about Global Warming."
The problem is that it's happening at a faster pace than the scientific community previously expected.
We're all the cause of it. For the past 100+ years we've been living like there's literally no tomorrow.

We've taken natural resources from the earth and have given back in the form of
Carbon Dioxide (CO2), water & air pollution, deforestation, over-population, and landfills.

The earth has never seen a 100 year period like the one we're reponsible for.

Plant trees to reduce your global footprint…
As trees grow, they help stop global warming by removing carbon dioxide from the air,
storing carbon in the trees and soil, and releasing oxygen into the atmosphere
.

…and for all the benefits they provide.
While fighting global warming, trees provide many benefits to all of us, every day.
They provide cooling shade, block cold winter winds, attract birds and wildlife, purify our air,
prevent soil erosion, clean our water, and add grace and beauty to our homes and communities.

Think there's nothing you can do..?

Solution: Transform climate change
from a cost to a business opportunity.

If The World Is Going To Become Greener,
It Will Have To Be Active Citizens Who Make It Happen.

The MicroSTAR.Tv concept of "carbon credits" is a viable solution with many positive side affects.
MicroSTAR Members earn MicroCASH Carbon Credits to spend in the locally owned business community.

It is important to understand, that every human being has a carbon foot print
and is responsible for adding carbon to the environment.
Our thinking for decreasing carbon concerns, in its most basic term is to . . .

Our Proposal?
REWARD PEOPLE & COMPANIES FOR "DOING & BEING" GREEN.
MAKE IT WORTH THEIR WHILE TO PARTICIPATE.

Be Rewarded Carbon Offset Credits via $MC.
You can help offset the harmful effects of your carbon footprint.
While obviously the best thing to do is work towards a neutral carbon footprint, we
realize that it's not always easy. After all, we all have to survive in a fast-paced society.

The MicroSTAR Member Solution
As members buy their locally owned business E.P. Product/Service Packages from MicroSTAR.TV,
they will be receiving two bonuses: Carbon Credits & MicroCASH.

Members carbon credits are used to purchase trees on land in Canada on behalf of members.
Members receives equivalent MicroCASH to spend with locally owned businesses.
A great reflection of their commitment to helping the planet.

Now that's smart money leveraging, resulting in:
1) Weekly incomes, 2) Supporting locally owned businesses, 3) Carbon credit creation = trees,
4) MicroCASH community currency which in turns supports more locally owned businesses.
= 1 Money & 4 Results.

This will help us offset carbon footprint as we work on greening our lifestyles by
reducing our waste, reusing what we can, and recycling instead what we throw away.
Did you know? The average person creates nearly 1 metric ton of Carbon emissions per month!

By purchasing 1 Bronze E.P. per month/$75, you receive:
1 Carbon Credit/month, or 12 Carbon Credits/year, you can become completely
carbon neutral of all of your direct carbon emissions!

By buying carbon credits you can help us offset your carbon footprint by planting trees on your behalf,
cleaning a watershed, educating the public, working with local Governments and Municipalities, and more.

We can help you become completely carbon neutral or your whole family.
Think about your daily actions along with that of your family.

Acording to the EPA, the average person contributes nearly 11 metric tons of Carbon emmissions per year.
That CO2 is released directly to the atmosphere and feeds the threat of Global Warming.

  • How many gallons of gasoline do you use every month. The EPA states that every 100
gallons of gasoline that a typical passenger vehicle burns releases roughly 1 metric ton.
  • How much electricity does your home consume? Look at your last electricity bill.
For every 1 Kilowatt/Hour that your home consumed, a coal-burning power plant
released a little over 1 metric ton of greenhouse gases.
  • How many hours do you spend flying? For every 3 hours you
spend flying in a jet, the fuel consumed releases 1 metric ton.
If we consider the CO2 released from all of our direct daily actions mentioned above, plus we include indirect
CO2 emissions such as the farming, harvesting, and transportation emissions of the food
we buy and the clothes we wear, then add them all together -
the average American carbon footprint increases to about 20 metric tons per year.

  • 1 Carbon Offset Credit = 1 ton of carbon reduction

    MicroSTAR Member - MicroCARBON Credits.
  • 1 Carbon Offset Credit Cost = $10.00, but to you, ZERO.
It is included as a bonus with your monthly Bronze E.P.
They are included as well in each and every one of your E.P. purchases.

Bronze = 1 Credit = 1 Tree planted on your behalf. Once per month = 12 trees per year.
Silver = 4 Credits = 4 Trees each time. Once per month = 48 trees per year.
Gold = 15 Credits = 15 Trees. Once per month = 180 trees per year.
Platinum = Credits = 75 Trees. Once per month = 900 trees per year.
Now, those numbers are based on once per month.
Think of twice a month or even once per week.
    The potential results are amazing.
This equates to many, many several tons of carbon credits.

    MAKING A DIFFERENCE,
GOOD FOR YOU, GOOD FOR THE AIR YOUR BREATHE,
     AND GOOD FOR YOUR WALLET.

For every carbon credit that you are awarded, we can responsibly plant 6 new trees, educate
thousands of new people, help finance cleaning our watersheds, and work with local municipalities
and elected officials to develop ways to become greener and a more eco-friendly place to live.
That's A 'Ton'! But, it's not impossible to offset. In fact, to offset the carbon footprint
of the average person for an entire year, it only costs as little as 12 trees.
Again, this is only Bronze, one per month.
As a member, this happens automatically.
Anymore and we all start to help off-set other peoples (non-members) carbon foot prints.

If we all do a little bit more, then it won't take very long to substantially increase our air quality.
It is VERY possible to assume our childrens children will be able to breathe CLEAN AIR.

For the average family, it takes only one Gold monthly to offset your automobile, home, air travel, etc!

Working with the experts, we take your Carbon Credits and stretch them through cleaning watersheds,
educating the public, and working with Governments and Municipalities to provide greener communities.

Our combined memberships efforts help to expand the 'environmental movement'
and repair the damages to the planet that have been caused by our own actions.

Be A Pioneer
You can enjoy the fact that you are doing your part by helping us do ours and
living a more carbon neutral lifestyle - even before it becomes the mainstream thing to do.

What Else Can You Do To Reduce Global Warming?
Planting trees is not the only answer to global warming. Globally, society must not continue to
draw fuels out of the Earth and pump carbon dioxide into our atmosphere, unchecked.
Planting trees greatly helps reduce carbon dioxide. Here are just a few other things you can do.

1.
Drive less. Walk, bike, carpool or take mass transit more often.
You'll save one pound of carbon dioxide for every 1.5 kilometre you don't drive.

2.  Recycle more. You can save 2,400 pounds of carbon dioxide
per year by recycling just half of your household waste.

3.  Check your tires. Keeping your tires inflated properly can improve gas mileage by more than 3%.
Every gallon of gasoline saved keeps 20 pounds of carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere.

4.  Turn off electronic devices. Simply turning off your television, stereo, or DVD player
when you are not using them can eliminate thousands of pounds of CO2 a year.

5.  Keep your car tuned up.
Regular maintenance helps improve fuel efficiency and reduces emissions.

An Inconvenient Truth suggests “Ways to Reduce Your Global Footprint”
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency provides
tools to help individuals reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

By definition, a Carbon credit is a generic term meaning that a value has been assigned to a reduction
or offset of greenhouse gas emissions.[1] Carbon credits and markets are key components of national
and international attempts to mitigate the growth in concentrations of greenhouse gases (GHGs).
One carbon credit is equal to one ton of carbon dioxide, or in some markets, carbon dioxide equivalent gases.
How rewarding individuals for being green and affecting the decrease in
local companies carbon footprints is healthy.

Increasing Good Habits Automatically Decreases Bad.

1. Reward people for shopping locally made.
This increases good habits while decreasing carbon production.
2. Reward people for purchasing trees, etc. This increases carbon absorption.
3. Rewarding people for acting green ultimately enhances greater green thinking.

SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainable development has been defined as balancing the fulfillment of human needs with the protection
of the
natural environment so that these needs can be met not only in the present, but in the indefinite future.
The term was used by the
Brundtland Commission which coined what has become the most often-quoted
definition of sustainable development as development that "
meets the needs of the present
without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs
."

The field of sustainable development can be conceptually divided into four general dimensions:
social, economic, environmental and institutional. The first three dimensions address key principles
of
sustainability, while the final dimension addresses key institutional policy and capacity issues.

We don't have another 20 years to decide what to do and then begin to make it happen.
Today is the day. Move!

We neither agree or disagree with the following.
Just making you aware of the ongoing discussion.

Why revenue-neutral carbon taxes are essential,
what’s happening now, and how you can help.

taken from http://www.carbontax.org/

The Obama Administration and Congress are being called upon to address 21st Century
climate realities.
In a carbon-constrained world, a permanent and increasing U.S. carbon
tax is essential
to reduce the emissions that are driving global
warming.

  • A carbon tax is a tax on the carbon content of fossil fuels (coal, oil, gas).
  • A carbon tax is the most economically efficient means to convey crucial price signals
    and spur carbon-reducing investment. Our
spreadsheet shows how fast emissions will fall.
  • Carbon taxes should be phased in so businesses and households have time to adapt.
  • A carbon tax should be revenue-neutral: government can soften the impacts of
added costs by paying back the tax revenues (“dividends”) or reducing other taxes (“tax-shifting”).
  • Supportfor a carbon tax is growing steadily among public officials; economists;
scientists; policy experts; business, religious, and environmental leaders; and ordinary citizens.
  • Proposals for cap-and-trade with offsets cannot deliver the needed emissions reductions.
See the courageous EPA lawyers’ superb video, “The Huge Mistake” (
    YouTube).
We invite you to learn more about carbon taxing, to share your thoughts about it,
and click
here to sign a petition and write your Congress member
saying you agree
that setting a direct price on carbon is the most potent policy to solve the climate crisis.
