What is CSA?
Community Supported Agriculture consists of a community of individuals who pledge support to a farm operation so that the farmland becomes, either legally or spiritually, the community's farm, with the growers and consumers providing mutual support and sharing the risks and benefits of food production. Typically, members or "share-holders" of the farm or garden pledge in advance to cover the anticipated costs of the farm operation and farmer's salary. In return, they receive shares in the farm's bounty throughout the growing season, as well as satisfaction gained from reconnecting to the land and participating directly in food production. Members also share in the risks of farming, including poor harvests due to unfavorable weather or pests. By direct sales to community members, who have provided the farmer with working capital in advance, growers receive better prices for their crops, gain increased financial security, and are relieved of much of the burden of marketing.
Marketing is where the MicoSTAR Loyalty + Referrals = Rewards Network (LRRN) program and the MicroMART Galleries community co-ops work in unison in order to assist in encouraging and rewarding its growing membership for supporting locally grown food by local farmers, ranchers and producers. MicroSTAR associate members are able to make regular purchases by using their weekly earned, "cash-backed" MicroCA$H community currency, with the many local producers. It's the healthier, wealthier thing to be doing. It's good for all involved.

Greens, Eggs & Ham Futures is a flexible, year round alternative to CSA that reflects the unique nature of our business.
Small, non – conventional farms such as ours have great difficulties accessing the capital to operate and grow our businesses despite the ever increasing market demand. This is because we do not fit the conventional “lending boxes” of agricultural, business or personal lenders. Agricultural lenders do not even consider DUCKS – our specialty, as agricultural products! Ariana, our older daughter who runs Ariana’s Farm Fresh Fowl is also unable to access the financial resources to produce her much sought after free range turkeys and Cornish game hens.
By participating in Greens Eggs & Ham Futures, you contribute directly to our growth and development. Your Prepayment Pledge will provide us with the operating capital we need to purchase essential items such as seed, feed, chicks and ducklings that we raise, drip irrigation, row cover and mulches to extend the growing season, and to hire labour to produce excellent crops.
